MIKE CASTRO THROWS PERFECT GAME!
Story by Jim Lockwood

BELFAST (AP) - Belfast Bombers young hurler Mike Castro tossed a perfect game June 3 versus the Atlanta Rebels! Castro (14-4, 3.21 ERA, 131 strikeouts) struck out 11 Rebels while facing the minimum 27 Atlanta batters in the Bombers 4-0 victory. It was the first recorded perfect game in the modern history of the Weaver League. Pat Hentgen of the Amity White Sharks and Castro's teammate Tim Adkinson have pitched no-hitters, but Castro becomes the first to toss a perfecto! Asked to comment on his accomplishment, the 23 year old Castro responded, "Dude, do I like get a bonus for this or somethin'?"
