Hey guys I'm not sure how many of you listen to rap music, but its a huge time right now for the bay area, california. Long time underground rapper e-40 from vallejo released his first "mainstream" albumn under warner bros., bme records and presented by lil john.

After ruling the underground rap scene for years and years in the bay, all the way from 1992. He has finally made a huge presence amongst the world. His new albumn is currently #1 in the rap and r and b sales chart. And #3 on the overall chart in sales, selling over 500,000 copies in his first weak. His presence on the "mainstream" has also produced a so called hyphy movement. Pronounced hi fee.

Anyways there is no other way to find out what I'm talking about other then checking it out. His hit single is "go dumb" by e-40 featering keak da sneak. Gotta give this man all the props he deserves.

Ps edmontons pitcher mike jones is also on one of the tracks called "I'm the man"

RIP to the Mac Dre aka Mac Dreezy aka Al Boo Boo aka Thizzelle Washington

The best underground rapper to ever live in the Bay Area should be getting all the credit for starting the movement. Dre came out with the Thizz World Theme last year after he got killed. If he was still alive he'd be right there on the scene with E-40 and Keak Da Sneak.

So do the Thizzle dance, get dumb, and remember who started this shit!

From an interview with E-40
-----------------------------------
For those who don’t know, can you elaborate a little bit on the Hyphy movement that’s so big in The Bay right now?

The Hyphy movement is gonna take the world by storm. It’s right now, man. It’s doing it in motion right now. It’s undeniable. We never cared so much, if the world was going to love us for our movement or not, we are having fun in our own environment. We want the world to embrace the Hyphy movement, because really and truly, we are from a soil called the Bay Area where we get bypassed like the surgery. They look over us. And we are the trend setters. We where everything come form. All the lingo, the swagger, the independent rap-game hustle, sellin’ tapes out the trunk of a car, ya smell me?

There’s a lot of great talent in the Bay. Long as we feel like we’re having fun amongst ourselves, we gon’ keep on being hyphy. We want the world to come along because hyphy is high-energy music, it’s up-tempo, it’s party music no matter what. No matter where it’s from it‘s party music. Hyphy could be from Boise, Idaho. If it was in Boise, Idaho and made your head bob and you dancing to it, it’s music. You can’t deny it. You know what I mean?

The whole movement is a whole different situation. You know about the whole movement: the cars, the lingo, the stunna-shades, the dreadlocks, the hyphy train, the sideshows, the music that makes the youngsters and cats do the hyphy dance, ya smell me? It’s like 50-100 different phases of the dance. Anybody can be hyphy man. Just let yourself go. It’s high energy. It’s the cousin of crunk, we just more up tempo. And it’s good music man. It’s party music. We hyphy!
